Salzburg University of Applied Sciences becomes a Gold Partner

Salzburg University of Applied Sciences has achieved the highest possible partner level in the COPA-DATA Partner Community. It is the first educational institution worldwide to be listed as a Gold Partner.

For almost two decades, COPA-DATA and the Information Technology and Systems Management (ITS) degree program at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, headed by Gerhard Jöchtl, have been working closely together. The close partnership has now been expressed in the University’s certification as a COPA-DATA Gold Partner. This heralds further intensified strategic cooperation in the future.

Partnership turned into friendship

Together, the two partners aim to provide important impetus for Salzburg’s status as a technology location. "Long-term partnerships are essential for the stable exchange of ideas and experience between education and industry. The partnership with COPA-DATA is an outstanding example of a successful transfer of knowledge. COPA-DATA benefits from access to future IT talent. The degree program benefits from exciting ideas and valuable input from business and industry contacts who bring their practical experience to the university. Over the years, our partnership has turned into friendship," says Simon Kranzer, Senior Lecturer at the Information Technology & Systems Management Program.

Especially during times of great change, technology and knowledge transfer between educational institutions and business is important. Trusted partnerships are vital to meet the challenges of the coming years. "Joint projects lead to innovations. This creates a competitive edge and advances Salzburg as a tech hub. The exchange of ideas with colleagues from the University of Applied Sciences is inspiring for both sides. With the gold partnership, we will be continuing on this successful path," says Reinhard Mayr. As Head of Research Operations and Security at COPA-DATA, Mayr is responsible for research cooperation at the company.

Close contact with technology companies is given high priority at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences (UAS). Doris Walter and Raimund Ribitsch, on the leadership team at the UAS, see cooperation with industry as a key success factor for education. In a joint statement, they stated: "We are therefore very pleased to be the first university worldwide to be awarded Gold Partnership status by COPA-DATA."

COPA-DATA Partner Community

The COPA-DATA Partner Community (CDPC) is a global network of specialists in the field of industrial and energy automation. The Gold Level is the highest level within the Partner Community. COPA-DATA uses it to distinguish companies and educational institutions with which the company has worked intensively over many years. To achieve this status, educational institutions must regularly demonstrate their knowledge of the zenon Software Platform as part of a qualification program. In return, they enjoy extensive benefits. For example, COPA-DATA provides licenses for teaching and, at some institutions, is involved in delivering learning.

Further information about the COPA-DATA Partner Community can be found on the CDPC area of our website and in the Membership-Guide for educational institutions.
